• In high school, after I’d written the short story Little Brother, my grandmother, Memee, gave me a spiral notebook. On the first page, she wrote an encouraging message and signed it. I long ago throw out that notebook, but I cut out the message and framed it.
• Also on my desk is a Madam Alexander ballerina in a blue leotard and tutu, which my other grandmother, Memom (who was Mother J at the time), gave me after my first and only dance (tap) recital when I was five or six.
• Another thing on my desk is a ceramic planter, sans plant, that is of a dog by a mailbox. I found this in the basement of Memee’s house, and I thought it looked like my first dog, Britney.
• A mess – enough said.

I propose that on the first of February (Friday), we have a friendly Depths of Peril hard core challenge until Valentine’s Day. Let’s make a new character of any class, and see how far we can get without dying.

Terminator, the new tv series, is on Mondays on Fox. I loved the movies, but what has my attention more than that was the fact that Summer Glau, (you know, the girl who played River in Firefly and Serenity?) is in Terminator. She plays Cameron, a robot-good guy sent back by future-John to protect present-John. I absolutely loved her as River. I had to see this new Terminator stuff.

Recently, I saw an interview with Montel Williams where he said that eating enough fruits and vegetables completely stopped his depression and cut the pain he feels in his legs in half. Really? That is awesome! Except… Vegetables? Awe hell…
