I started the month thinking I’d write 1000 words every day, but I didn’t take into account that I’m losing all of my "me" time at night since I go to bed now. I have to get my "me" time during the day. Also lots of other stuff presses on my time during the day so I’ve readjusted this. I plan to start with writing 500 words then editing 500 words on a modern day zombie novel in an alternating pattern, then on the days I'm not too busy, work on short stories for the expansion. Yes, I’ve started my novel!!! Yay! September Goal – Develop writing pattern into a steady routine. In other news, I’ve printed cool bookmarks and ordered two t-shirts to advertise Depths of Peril while I’m at FenCon in Dallas next week! Everything seems really exciting right now. Comments |

Even though Steven loved working at Ritual, in late 2004, he became dissatisfied with certain elements. I said that the whole reason he worked at a game company was because he loved the work and was happy. It's one of the values we both share, a passion for one's life's work. I mean, if he was going to be dissatisfied, he might as well work somewhere else outside of the gaming industry where he'd make more money. We'd been planning on "retiring" in 2024, and Steven would make his own rpg game, a long time dream of his. When we looked through the options of what to do in late 2004, we had enough savings that this made the list. I thought, hey, one year of no income? No problem. Mid 2005, Steven had an engine up and running. Now if the artists would stop flaking out and dropping off the face of the planet... Heh heh. We did finally end up with a really great team. A friend of mine recommended a book she picked up by accident, getting the author’s name confused with something she read in the past. She told me she absolutely loved the book, and that she read the first three books of the series in about half a week. So now I’ve read the first book, Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon, and I loved it. Click to continue reading Trading in Danger |

I’ve discovered an apple that tastes like candy! That’s right folks! Candy! It’s called a Pink Lady Apple. I looked it up and like Granny Smith, it was developed in Australia (2000), so it will grow well here (in Texas). I’m planting one of the seeds soon. I’m not blogging much because I found out that a new medication I'm taking causes me to feel carsick while on the computer. Also, shopping makes me feel carsick. I know this because I wasn’t sick at all while visiting my dad. I’ll be finished with the medication soon. On to another question list:

I live in Texas. That's right, Texas. You know, that huge state in the south? The one that has had a draught for the last three years? Before that, the normal time for rain was in March and September. Yes, Texas is known for its spotty weather, but that's about how it can change on a dime. One day cold, the next day hot. We've even gone all of June and July with not a drop of rain. SO WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!!! It has been raining all month, with at least one severe storm per week. It has been raining EVERY FREAKING DAY since Thursday! Seven days of rain! My allergies have gone haywire, and I'm beginning to think I need to invest in a boat! We had an inch of rain just this morning. Forecast for tomorrow: Rain... (break out the Claritin) Delilah Rehm |
