Fantastical Creature Reality Show Contestant Sneak Peek #9: Bolo the Orc
Twisty scars mar Bolo’s green face and massive arms. He has a blunt nose, wide brows and woodsy brown, shaggy hair. Pointed ears are all that remain from his elf origins. He wears brown leather pants, a broad belt, thick boots and wrist bracers.
Interviewer: Glad you could meet with us, Bolo. Not many Orcs applied for the show. Why do you think that is?
Bolo: How should I know? They’re probably busy plotting a war or something.
Interviewer: Your strength will be an advantage in the competitions. What do you think will be your weaknesses?
Bolo: Orcs don’t have weaknesses, except that not many other races like us. They’re jealous. I’m glad I’m part of such a high profile race.
Interviewer: What strategy will you use to win the game?
Bolo: I don’t need a strategy. I’ll do better than everyone else and I’ll win. Overwhelm my foes. It’s the only way to do it.
Interviewer: What will you do with the prize money if you win?
Bolo: Well, if I could afford some mercenaries, I could raid a river port and take a boat. I’ve always wanted a boat. Also with enough paid warriors, I could raid a town and kidnap an apothecary to care for my ailing grandmother. She deserves a slave of her own.
Interviewer: That’s sweet. I think. Bolo, why should viewers choose you for the game?
Bolo: Because they DON’T want to see me angry. If I don’t get on the show, I’ll kill…
Interviewer: Don’t forget, it’s against the rules to threaten the audience.
Bolo: Well… Uhh… They should remember- orcs have a bad reputation for a reason.
