These are in order by which I read first. (****) Master of Dragons by Margaret Weis – Though the title doesn’t make any sense to me, this third book of the series was very good. Two very bad dragons’ plans are reaching fruition, and a war begins. I love Draconius, the skin walker, and his quest to find the very bad dragons while protecting the twin boys with different fathers, both born with dragon’s blood in their veins. This is going around the blog sites. Add your list in your blog or in the comments section here. It’s fun to read what everyone picks. Go to this page of quotes, pick out five quotes that speak some truth to you (refresh the page as needed), and post.
Here are mine: "There is no revenge so complete as forgiveness." Josh Billings "How dreadful knowledge of the truth can be, When there’s no help in truth!" Sophocles "Once you can laugh at your own weaknesses, you can move forward. Comedy breaks down walls. It opens up people. If you’re good, you can fill up those openings with something positive. Maybe… combat some of the ugliness in the world." Goldie Hawn "Next to knowing when to seize an opportunity, the most important thing in life is to know when to forgo an advantage." Benjamin Disaeli "Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I am in, therin to be content." Helen Keller Delilah Rehm comments |

These are in order by which I read first. (*****) Trading in Danger (Vatta 1) by Elizabeth Moon - The 5 book Vatta series is Moon’s latest science fiction masterpiece. After getting kicked out of the military academy, Kylara Vatta is learning merchant shipping by captaining one of her family’s merchant spaceships, and it could have gone well, if it weren’t for the SPACE PIRATES! I haven’t been taking good notes of what I’ve read, and decided to make a master list from when I started tracking them in mid 2006. In 2006 I read about 9 books, in 2007 I read 24 books, and so far this year (2008) I’ve read 22 books. I did a review last year covering Aug 2006 to May 2007 (19 books), about 10 months. I have 36 books to tell you about from this 11 months. This book I loved beyond anything I’ve read in awhile (******): Rules of Engagement (Serrano 5) by Elizabeth Moon. Moon’s characters are deeply engaging. I fell in love with many of them. They don’t always do what I’d like, and some things in RoE break my heart. I love the closeness and incredible bonds between the characters. They will go to great -life changing- lengths for each other. It’s a rare thing in Real Life, but that kind of love and acceptance is a treasure people crave. The darkness, the evil bit of trouble in RoE is similar to the first book of this series, but imo, better. I love that darkness. Something about it, about what people are really capable of, pulls at me. People can be horrible to each other, and Moon’s characters have to endure, survive, thrive and fight this darkness.
