I managed to put something together before I saw anyone replying to this thread. I've managed to do about the same thing you just provided with some added tweaks.

Can't seem to adjust the damage for [Fusion swarm missile] though. Anyone know where to do that?

Still looking to add more AOE to missiles, anyone know where to look?
found this under BaseSkillBomb but its commented out and I don't understand the attached comment, but it might have something to do with aoe?
