Default questions about cave-ins and physical spells

Hello, I've start playing this game some days ago and now starting chars in hardcore.
I got some probleme with cave-ins, I know some spells cause it and I can avoir them, but with my earthquake druid I can't avoid all of them
So i would know how to survive, does something can reduce cave-ins damage? maybe armor ?

My other question is about physical damage spells like earthquake or bone shatter, does strenght give more damage on these spells ? Does armor piercing works with these spells ? And spell like Possession (demonologist) who give +physical damage makes them stronger ?

Physical resistance would help if you can get it. Other than that more health is about the only real way.

Strength, armor piercing, and skills like Possession won't help earthquake or bone shatter.

By physical resistance, you mean armor ?
I got fire, lightning, cold, poison and magic resistances in character screen, but I dont see physical and never seen it on an item.

No, it's not armor. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it since the only place I can recall that physical resistance is the Demonologist's Circle of Protection spell.

Your best bet really is just more health.

Can regular attack damage be mitigated by physical resistance? Or is it only applied in the case of projectiles and DoTs?

If the latter, maybe some skills or even the earthquake skill itself should give the druid physical resistance.

Yes, physical resistance should work against regular attacks.

earthquake can break cave-ins before they hit you,so I think it's not a problem if you have enough mana to cast 4-5 more earthquake when you see a cave-in on your head .maybe more earthquake if the new earthquake cause new cave-ins

yes, it works sometimes, but often results in more cave'ins
I've read somewhere they are items with fast cast (maybe not named fast cast, but it makes cast cast faster) which leaves you more time to evade cave-ins, waiting to find one to try it.
atm I'm playing with 100% of my stats in vitality and spend all my golds in health potions ^^

Have you test it? Does it really make easier to avoid cave-ins caused by earthquake ?
