That looks like that might work. I'll have to look into it some more.

Steam would be nice, but even becoming linked into services like amazon.com downloads would allow for the build up of trusted reviews and a source of referrals for Diablo type games and hence, at least some better ways of getting the game's name into search engines without actually being a troll on various message boards. Same with Drox, which may even have a bigger demand as Eve online is the only real alternative still and it is niche for heavy investment hardcore players. Just having one small seller listing in Amazon does little as even a search of 'din's' inside of amazon software makes for a hunt to find it listing anywhere.
Other than finding the game, the other concern I had initially was the logic and possible problems that could occur from buying the game and the expansion together. Even if both were packaged as one game but cost more, I would not have given the purchase a second thought. I guess I am hoping this game explodes to induce more expansions since so much could be done with the demon and undead factions including playable races for each who could only vendor randomly in dungeons and are limited to certain classes with some multi-player interactions based upon faction choice. You have so many more options not having to worry about one time used voice dubbing and cut-screens or excessive animation effects. |

BTW Shadow, why are there different zones for matchmaking? Doesn't that make it harder for people to find other people playing online?

Originally it was mostly a quick way to keep the average ping times down a bit by grouping people that are near each other together. You are probably correct that in reality it is just making things a bit harder.

I would definitely like to see them all merged into one zone, if possible.

Like multiplayer keys, activation keys, or what? What would be the ideal arrangement? |

For the full version you are given a key for DC. The game checks to make sure the key is valid and the master server does the same thing if you try to use our matchmaking on the internet. GOG and Apple's app store don't allow keys like that.

Oh, so ideally I guess you would give GOG or whoever some number of keys that would then be passed on to the user (then giving more as needed). Or would they auto-generate from your own servers somehow?

Most portals do the first option. I'm pretty sure GOG is against any form of DRM though.

Now we all have the opportunity to see what the best of Depths of Peril and Din's Curse could produce! Drox Operative is the most incredible game I've worked on so far... and I've made over 20 of them! Drox kicks a$$!
