Question Alternate ways to get access to in game developer mode?

I have a Windows Vista 64-bit laptop system with an ATI video card. This is not the first game that I've had problems getting the game to recognize my '~' key presses, so I blame my computer not din's curse.

With that said, googling and other searches have left me thinking I might be the only one with this problem.

Is there any other key press/mouse motion/sledgehammer swing I can perform on my computer to access to the developer console?

Are there keymaps in the mod files I have not yet found?

Default Answered: Tilde (~) key not being recognized by Din's Curse

Did a bit more searching, and found this note in the Morrowind forums.

I assume most have windows media center since it comes with vista. That is what is causing the problem. The Infrared Reciever to be exact.

What I had to do:

1: Open up the Device Manager
2: Go to the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tab
3: Maximize the tab to bring up Devices
4: Open the eHome Infrared Reciever (USBCIR)
Additional note from me: This was located in the Human Interface Devices tab, not the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tab.
5: Uninstall it and Restart your computer.
Additional note from me: I didn't have to restart my computer.

The tilde key correctly brings down the console now. Problem solved.
