I'm playing a druid with points only in earthquake, and it's hilarious. Trying to dig myself out of rockfalls by casting more earthquakes, only to die in the process. However in this mass rockfall slaughter, I noticed a funny thing. The spawns started going massively up over time, to the point where I can barely enter the area. When I enter the gate I'm teleported 20 foot away from it because literally every other bit of ground is covered in monsters.
I have a theory as to what's going on: I'm killing rocks and they're counting as monster kills in the area. When it comes to respawning time, it tries to pump in as many units as were killed, which since it includes rockfalls is a huge number. Cue tons of extra monsters in heavy rockfall areas.
This makes a lot of dungeons unwinnable, since you can't even get past the stairs after a time
