need help win xp pro sp3

i recently formatted my old p4 with sp3 and dop will not work
nothing comes up at all it installs fine any advice???

More info is needed to offer advice. What GPU, are drivers installed correctly, do other games run fine, do you see any error messages, etc. You could post a DXDIAG report, it may help finding problems: type DXDIAG in the RUN prompt (from the Start menu), press enter, wait for it to finish, and click "save all information". Save the file and post it here.

intel desktop board d865glc
ati radeon 9600 128mb
x fi sound card sb0460
clean install of xp pro sp3
cpu p4 3.0ghz with HT
2gb ram
80g hard rive

i fix computers so i know drivers are fine
works fine on sp2 just sp3 it won't fire up

That's still not enough to go on, so only generic advice is possible.

DoP does OpenGL, as far as I know. Make sure that's okay (I know older ATI drivers messed up OGL support sometimes and the 9600 is an older card). Which drivers: reference, omega, version? Directx uptodate?

System event/application log doesn't show anything?

Starting directly from the program's folder, by using right-click and selecting "run as" and selecting an Admin user doesn't help?

What was the install order? Should be: windows, sp1, sp3, then drivers and stuff (or use a slipstream. sp1 was needed to install sp3 at the time i did it last, so thought i'd mention that).

Try elimination: disable devices to see what happens. Disable the sound card, and try again. etc.

Tried compatibility mode? Shouldn't affect things, but if it does it will at least tell you something.

Does Din's Curse work? If you don't own it, try the demo.

That DXdiag would be very helpful. ZIPping it is still too big? Post it as an attachment, not as a message.

either way i will try the things you mention but here's a list of what i have tried so far
i did run as....
tried compat mode all of them
i reinstall tried repair patching
i will try removing my sound etc... see what happens
and i installed win xp pro with sp3 already on the disc
and did all updates possible
i will try my on board video and sound see what happens
and more ideas will help thanks

i took out my video card and used the on board and it worked fine so it's gotta be the ati driver i would figure be nice to run it at full res though thanks for your help
