Possible Drox 1 to 2 Ship conversions?

I was looking through my USB drives and found my save files from my many Drox 1 ships since there wasn't Steam cloud when we played. Since many of the races are the same is there a possibility of bringing the Drox 1 ships into Drox 2 save files?
More of a curiosity question rather than wanting to do it. Might be a fun project for someone.
