Default Crashes after latest Apple 'security update'

Hi,

Have been playing DoP faultlessly for about a month now - love it!!!

But, today I installed the latest Apple 'security update', now, all my programs run OK but about two minutes after I start DoP my Mac has a unrecoverable crash.

Anyone else seeing this?

Mac Pro 2.8 Quad-Core Intel Xeon
OS 10.5.8

I just installed the latest security patch in 10.5.8. I'll see if I can reproduce this. Are you doing anything specific? Is this only with 1 specific character?

Thanks for your reply.

Nothing specific, just trying to get to a vendor to sell supplies - I have also tried to go adventuring - both end in tears!

It has happened now five times, each time the crash is within two minutes or so.

I just tried again, closed all my other apps then opened DoP. Went strait to the vendor - got to the vendor and had only sold six items, then crash!

Have not tried another character yet.

This is the crash report:

Hmm, I've played a new character for over 20 minutes now and haven't gotten a crash yet. You might want to try a different character to make sure it's not character or more likely world specific.

If it is character/world specific you could email me your character files and I could look at it. Go here to find my email address. The character files will be in /Users/YOUR USER NAME/Library/Application Support/Depths of Peril/User/chars

Also if this is the problem starting a new world with that character would probably clear up the issue.

The other thing it could be, are you using the latest version of DoP (1.015)?

Hi Steven,

Your wisdom is indeed profound!

I am using the latest version.

Started a new world with my old character, played for around 15 mins - all worked as expected.

Thanks - I will continue with this new world and scrap the old - weird!

Greg

It'd still be nice if Steven got his hands on your character, that way this specific problem doesn't happen to anyone every again
