[Bug(?)] Tributary status elevates primitives

This is an excerpt from my latest log.

00:06:17 - Artargon has become a Tributary of Cerazn!
00:06:17 - Artargon has reached the Industrial Age!
00:06:17 - Artargon has reached the Machine Age!
00:06:17 - Artargon has reached the Atomic Age!
00:06:17 - Artargon has reached the Early Space Age!
00:06:18 - Artargon has reached the Space Age!

As seen here, as soon as Artargon became a tributary of Cerazn, they instantly reached the Space Age, despite being several ages behind originally.
This phenomenon was also reported by other users on Discord, so it doesn't seem to be a one-off instance.
This doesn't seem to be intentional, so I assume it is a bug.
