Default Rylor Bombs

Level 53 with 309 fire resist. One shotted by a rylor fire bomb. Sorry but that's just not right.

Looks like rylor fire bombs cause physical damage rather than fire damage. Not sure why.

bomb = explosion damage (which is physical, not fire) perhaps?

Bluddy's mod fixes the bomb radius at least.

I'd like to fix the damage type as well, but I want to know the reasoning behind it first. It used to have fire damage but shadow changed it to physical damage, maybe because it's labeled as magicattack 1, which I think causes damage to be modified by armor, in which case you really don't want fire damage. For some reason I was under the impression that the rylor bomb had magic damage.

I don't remember any particular reason why it wouldn't be fire damage.

Are those the explosions that instantly kill you/do crazy damage when you kills rylors sometimes?
This is really annoying on hardcore...anyway to fix it so they don't do such an extreme amount of damage? I got one shotted at level 6 as a mage...nothing I could do about it.

There's a few different Rylor type mobs. They all have horns on their head I think. Some of them have a stunning headbutt attack. One (or more) type of Rylor throws a time bomb. You can hear it tick and it shows a fire graphic. It is way overpowered. You have to run away or die.

Yea I realized that it is only the bomb, not when they die, decided to just do regular though as that seems too chancy in a really big fight where you can't always hear the ticking.

Thanks

I lost a couple of hardcore characters because I couldn't hear the bomb tick, so I modded the sound file to make it louder. I'll post it if anyone wants it.
