We've gotten pretty good press on game sites. I still need to read the other 4 articles linked in the article.

What I'm thinking is most gamers don't read gaming websites. Is it just a word of mouth thing starting with these core gamers? Or is there some other way to reach out to gamers that is effective?

Perhaps it's something else entirely, like maybe we need some kind of hubbub to get people talking, like how Conan O'Brien's show gained 50% viewers this last week or so.

I am wracking my brain thinking we must be missing something, if only I could think of what?

Anyway, thanks for the link. I need all the ideas I can get.

Ooooo The viral video with something funny sounds like a good idea. I won't make one where I fake falling out of my chair though!

Looks like I should start videoing my gameplay.

Good gameplay video would make waiting much more bearable . I'm all for it.

hmmm... Something showing the entire family having a great time playing together? I am not certain though that dungeon crawlers typically fall into the family together playing group, however, I know of several families that play MMos together so perhaps

I think the key to a viral-ish video is that it must be something *funny* regardless of how many players. So once I figure out how, I'd like to video all of my game play and just wait for something funny. Then I'll need to edit that little bit into a video!

Lately, Steven and I are playing together. Yesterday he fixed some kind of lag problem I was having so the game runs smoother.

That lag problem was crappy drivers. Sometimes pc development is a pain.

Sometimes??? I can't imagine what a pain it would be to do PC game development with the multitude of hardware configs that you can run into - let alone the consumer education side of things with the end-user who just wants it to 'go'

Default Last 5 for This Thread, Probably

1. I tried using my camera to video game play. Umm... that didn't work so much. The screen was all jumpy. So I need to figure out another way.

2. Still working on dialog and I hope a few of you out there like to read the stuff. I'm not a big dialog reader myself. Din's is going to be packed with info and interesting quotes. I'm in the middle of help tips for monsters currently.

3. In my current stressful lifestyle, I've had a hard time sticking to diets for long term satisfaction when immediate compulsion was strong, so now I'm resulting to candy bribery and even though it's only day four, I think this is going to work fairly well.

Here's how it works: First I had to find candy for my "reward" that would be no more than 100 calories. Yeah, fun sized candy bars didn't make the cut. At first I went with a box of valentine heart candies, the kind with words on them. That was okay, but then I found nerds rope, which I love! Now, if I stay in my weight watchers point range (29 points or somewhat over 1450 cal), the next day I can have a nerds rope. When my compulsion confronts the fact that giving in will lose me my nerds rope the next day (an immediate reason to stick to the plan), then my compulsion loses because I really like nerds rope candy! (It's sad that I can be trained just like an animal! )

4. Last year (Dec 08), my great uncle died while still in the hospital after knee surgery. Later they found out he had a bad heart and that plus the surgery was the cause. Yesterday, my mom had knee surgery and even though I know a bad heart is just one of those wonky things, I felt like I was holding my breath until this morning - that if she was still alive this morning then she would be okay. Of course she is! It's like that car wreck I had in December. I'm still jumpy when I cross that intersection. Experience can do that to you.

5. I taught my daughter how to do multiplication in kindergarten and she understood the concept right away. In first grade, I taught her division which she also understood. The problem is she kept getting confused which was which. This morning (she's in second grade now), I told her the knocked over plus sign makes the number bigger (add the piles) just like a plus sign, and the minus sign with chickenpox makes the number smaller (make the piles). Hopefully now she won't have a problem remembering.

Did I mention she loves math?
