Din's Curse Co-op w/ Windows

I tried to play cooperative with my Windows machine and Linux would error: Host is using different protocol
Is there a way to play on a LAN with other platforms like Windows?

Good question, I doubt it.
I got my Windows version from Desura, how can I get an updated version?

I don't know if the game on Desura has any differences that would make it incompatible, but you could try applying the latest patch from Soldak's site.

I found a changes.txt in the root of my Windows Din's Curse
It says 1.024

Does that sound about right?

I'm hoping my Linux Steam version is 1.029 so then I can update my Windows version and they will be the same.

The Steam version is at 1.033 right now. There haven't been any protocol version changes since 1.029, so that patch should work fine for you, but you may as well get the beta 1.034 patch.
