Char not being saved

Edit ...NVM....I found the issue...it was a me thing....I had the .chr file open so it wasnt being saved

hey Shadow,

any idea what might be causing a character to not be saved? the last two days I have played my lvl 18 Amateur mage to 23ish....then hit save and exit. The next time I logged in and resumed game...im back as an 18 mage with old covent team.

Do I need to hit the crown and start a new game possibly to get a new save?
I noticed this time I was being given quests for Wailing and lvl 25 recruits were showing up...een though I am 18

There shouldn't be anything in the game that is preventing saving. Actually the game should also be auto saving every few minutes in addition to your manual save/exit.

If it's not saving correctly something is preventing the game from saving the files in the desired location. Either something is set to write only, there isn't enough room, or the OS is preventing writing in some other way.

In his edit he mentioned having the file open, I'm assuming a file lock preventing it from being saved, nothing can write to the file as long as the file remains open(although that makes me wonder what you are opening it with that imposes file locks).
