Default Shared storage

Just curious as to why shared storage isn't available in hardcore or semi-hardcore modes. I kind of like the idea of living in a deadly world and any good items you get that you can't use, you can store for future family--sort of like legacy items.

Great game, by the way. Really enjoying it.

It's there to make sure each hardcore character is basically on his own and gets no outside help (although multiplayer can change that part).

Our next game might allow some kind of item transfer though.

Path of Exile is probably the biggest example of a game that does have a shared stash system enabled for hardcore characters that works.

But, unfortunately, immediately enabling shared stash for Zombasite wouldn't be as simple. This is because, unlike Path of Exile, the attribute and level requirements for everything are very lax. In Path of Exile, you can't take, say, Skyforth, 1k ES Vaal Regalia and 21/20 Flameblast gem and put them on your level 20 character to faceroll then faceroll through the game. But, in Zombasite, you can get away with very similar, and in many cases thoroughly more gamebreaking, gear sharing scenarios like that.

Could be interesting to 'weaken/harm/destroy' (different chances) items put into the shared stash when placed into it by cursing them, lowering stats, etc. Then any character can take them out. I imagine that repeating this on an item over and over again (assuming it isn't destroyed) would eventually lead to a 6-curse mod very rare item that does 0-0 damage, has a 5.0 weapon speed and other terrible attributes (like minus movement speed, etc.) Could be interesting.
