Default [Bug] Ultimate Weapon ships do not get skills from new hulls

When I hover over the command stat of my Ultimate Weapon ship, the tooltip seems to say that the next hull will not bring any increase in any skill. I have not actually gotten a bigger hull, because I'm playing Command Zero ships, so I do not know whether the Ultimate Weapon subrace truly loses its skill bonus.

In any case, either the tooltip or the new hull needs fixing.

Ultimate Weapon Ships also need something other than a Special Weapon Racial Slot to not be broken gimp as well since Special Weapons can't be Chipped Up to anywhere near the power that Non-Special Weapon type Weapons can be...

While I am all for allowing special weapons to benefit from chips, Ultimate Weapon is not gimped because of its race slot.

There is a class of special weapons that does not do damage but temporary increases damage for all other weapons. The Brute Force is an example, more than doubling a ship's damage output while halving its thrust. Such weapons fit perfectly with the Ultimate Weapon theme of mega damage, and do not need chips to achieve their potential.

This in my book makes the Ultimate Weapons one of the top three races at this time, namely: Reaper/Infection, Drakk/Cortex Hybrid, and Ultimate Weapon. (Their respective roles are Armored Survivor, Stealth Assassin, and Damage Dealer)

Indeed, the Ultimate Weapon does not receive Tactical bonuses for its hulls. I hope this is bug, as opposed to working as intended. It would not affect a Command Zero ship, but it would mess everyone else up.

Oh yeah! How could I forget about that? I'm a fan of the Weapon Overload Control!

... Maybe i'll take a break from my Scavenger Ship...

I still need to unlock Reaper and Infection. I'm enjoying my Barbarian ship though...I have never seriously used bombs before and I'm finding that they can be quite effective. Certainly more effective than the plain missiles a regular Brunt ship would use, which tend to get shot down before impact.

*Gasp* You found a way to make Bombs useful again!!? Please tell me how ya did it!

It's a bug. I haven't looked at it yet, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix.

In that case, i'll work on my new Clone Ship first & postpone on my Ultimate Weapon Ship, just in case a Hull Fix turns out to not be able to work retroactively.
