Default DPS weirdness

With a 67.4 DPS weapon equipped as my second weapon, my ships stat screen says I have 761.4 DPS. However when I replace that weapon with another of same type, but with 90.0 DPS on it, my ships stat screen now says I have 683.3 DPS. So how can I be losing DPS by equipping a much higher DPS weapon?

Does the DPS change when you quit and reload? There are some combinations of weapon speed components and weapon speed chip bonuses that confuse the game. As a rule, when I change my load out, I quit/reload if I have weapon speed components installed.

Restarting does nothing for me, the values dont change. Ive had this happen multiple times now with superior DPS weapons resulting in a lower DPS amount on the ship stat screen

Hmm... you said that they were the same weapon type, so it's not that some are benefiting from bonuses others can't use.

Why don't you post a few screenshots... if it matters that much to you. The two weapons as they compare to each other, and the DPS before and after.
