Would it be possible to add as a toggleable option? Either through the normal options menu, or perhaps as an option when making your character? Besides, going from the posts in this thread, it seems people do like the idea!

I'll think about it.

Sasha, If you want to have a fun match that's almost masochistic-choose cursed hardcore and play a character that relies on their weapon (any warrior/rogue/ranger type). See who can make it to the highest lvl. That oughta be fun. Or you could always try hardcore/fragile. I havent tried that one yet.

Speaking of game modes, are there any plans on adding any new ones any time soon shadow?

I have a bunch of ideas for new ones. I don't know if they are going to go into the main game or the expansion though.

I started hardcore as a rogue, and my brother as a tank/healer hybrid. It seems we have to run away from fights more, but even against what the game recommends hard or above, we still manage. We just completed a world that had 8 whole quests.

I would like to see some option that let me customise the world, so I could make a frantically-paced one, but also make it have a lot to do. I feel that worlds that have 15 levels, but end by the time you get to level 5 are quite disappointing.

I wouldn't judge any of the difficulty by the first few towns - 8 quests is NOTHING.

Further on in the game, and with the right randomised town settings, like war for instance, things can be absolutely insane with you needing to complete/or choose from anything between fifty and several hundred quests over the course of one, rather epic, game.

Yeah, it gets pretty insane on Hard and Hardcore around the third town. Regardless, try playing the next town on Fast paced too.

Well I tried a hardcore game with every option on.
Half health, less items, cursed equips only, the works.

Needless to say it was an interesting game.
I made it to level 7 before I got killed by rock fall (don't look down on mother nature!), in that time I had only managed to find a single item I could use.
It wasn't terrible difficult still, but did force me to play defensively.

I think that hardcore really is only a hardcore experience when you do this.
No one but me would be happy but I'd like to see hardcore default to this.

Minus cursed equip requirement.

Cursed equips + low items = somewhere around about no items at all, making it only difficult for weapon-based classes(which already have enough difficulty in HC).

As much as Hardcore is the toughest, I still think that cursed is the most annoying. When your lvl 15 and your still wielding a crap sword that you started out in the beginning with, while the monsters are hitting your for a quarter of your life cuz no armor, you know you there's something wrong.
