Default Windows 8 Problems

When i start Drox the Main Menu goes White and the game is not responding. After setting the Graphic Settings to Low the Game is running in Slow Motion with 1-2 FPS. Same goes for Dins War, without the corruption of Graphic.

Please Advice

Best regards from Germany

I'm sure Shadow will reply, but I'm wondering: Is anyone now using Windows 8 and is having problems (similar or otherwise) with Drox??

First thing I would try is to update your sound and graphic drivers. That's usually the cause of things going really slow like this. I'm not positive in this case since it's a brand new OS version though.

You could also try to run in a window (not fullscreen) to see if that helps.

Hello Shadow, i'm a PC Maintenance Guy with a solid Level of Experience. And because of that all Drivers & Updates are always the newest ones.

My Specs:
Windows 8 x64
ATI 55xx Graphics Card
4GB Ram
x4 AMD Phenom with 2.0 GHZ
most Games run in 1600*900 or 1280*720
Games are on a seperate HDD
REALTEK HD Audio onboard and a USB Creative Labs Headset for Gaming.

I tried the "Running in Windows Option", still slow Mo. with both Games.

Maybe it has something to do with the new Security Concept of M$.
Every Programm runs in his own Adressroom (Sandboxed???) I dunno?

No problems here on Win8.

Intel i7-2600
nVidia 570GTX

Drivers were up to date as of two weeks ago.

Well hopefully that means it's not a general Win8 issue. So let's try some of the more standard stuff. Try turning off ATI tray tool's on-screen-display and turn off triple buffering (in your driver stuff, not in the game).

Sry to disapoint.

No ATI Tray & Triple Buffer is Off.

I hav tried all Standart Solutions.

Graphics to Standart / Reinstall ATI & Realtek Drivers.

Windows Mode, Low Res Graphics, AV Solutions turned off.

BTW with M$ EMET i hav put User Account Control (UAC) on Hardcore Settings.

Does Drox or Dins C need UAC for working?

I will contact the ATI Support or try the newest BETA Driver.... because i think it's Graphic related.

Thanks for your Help

Best Regards from Germany

P.S I hav ATM 20 Games from Borderlands 2 - Guild Wars 2 or Serious Sam 3 installed. All Running without a Hitch....

I wouldn't expect the UAC stuff to matter when it comes to our games, but you could turn it off temporarily just to see if it fixes the problem.

Default *Solved*

Hi Shadow,

Problem Solved.

AMD has installed the normal ATI Drivers and not the Mobility Ones. *Odd*

After manual choosing the "Right Stuff" everything is peachy.

So Windows ATI User: Don't do Automatic Downloads, choose the right Driver manually.

Thanks for all the Help

Best Regards
