![]() I just tested out the gamepad controls, and they've improved significantly. A lot of very good work here!
However, I also think there's room for improvement: * The right stick shooting immediately is difficult to adjust to and unorthodox. * Using stuff in the world around you is still hard. * Hard to navigate between info screens (relations, planets etc). Suggestions for improvements: * Right trigger is the 'shoot' button (uses the skill chosen by the d-pad cross, see below). * Left trigger is the 'use' button. * When moving the right stick around, the cursor moves as it does now (it's very good). It should be a target reticle rather than a cursor though. * But it shouldn't automatically fire -- that should be done with the Right Trigger. * As you move the right stick around, it *also* selects things in that direction (as it sort of does now): enemies for debuff powers or lasers, and if there are no enemies nearby or you aim closer, then objects nearby. These selected things should have their outline highlighted to show that they're currently selected. * Left button (LB) and right button (RB) are for extra skills, as is now. * Additionally, for the shoot button, add a cross image in the lower left showing the current d-pad mapping for each direction of the d-pad. The d-pad is used for selecting an active skill for the Right Trigger. This is very common. For example, see DeathSpank. * The d-pad mapping should be configurable via the inventory screen (move a skill to the appropriate position). * For the various info screens, one button should take you to the main info screen (e.g. Relations), and then LB and RB should take you from screen to screen.

![]() I should supplement this by saying that it's a *lot* more fun to play with the controller than with the M&K (the vibration on getting hit alone is worthwhile), so making these controls really shine will pay off.
