Lightbulb Dual Wield

Hi everyone, Depths of Peril is a fun little game!


Would it be possible to add "Dual Wield" (or "Two Weapon Combat" etc.) skill to rogue as a 8 (or 6?) point skill to "Offence" skilltree in future update? Or as an expansion perhaps, but then it might come with a new class?

This, because the rogue seems very weak, without ranged weapon, decent armor or healing, compared to other classes. And it would be sooo cool to see my rogue girlie swinging twin blades.

Any hope...?

Did you try the stealth skill? It turns the rogue into a real killing machine.

I'm not sure if the dual wield will be added or not, but it was added to the official wishlist.

Ah, nice to hear. Dual Wield would fit to rogue like a glove to a hand.

Some ideas how it would work:

#1. Attack speed:
- Starts from 0% (as fast as with one weapon) and increases with every point spend to the skill up to +50%.

#2. Attack penalty: (With 2x attack speed)
- Double attack speed, compared to single weapon attacks. Both hands has attack penalty, that starts from -50% and decreases with every point spend to the skill up to 0%.

#3. Offhand penalty:
- Double attack speed, compared to single weapon attacks. Offhand damage penalty, starts from -50% and and increases with every point spend to the skill up to 0%.

#4. Dual strike:
- Every point spend to the skill increases chance to make dual strike special attack (damage1 + damage2) up to 25% from 5%. Otherwise the attacks are done in normal attack speed.

#5. Offhand strike:
- Starts from 5% and increases with every spoint to skill up to 25% chance to strike with offhand, otherwise character only strikes with mainhand.


The last two option would be easiest make, since they would only add chance to do "a special attack", which is done with off-/both hands, otherwise the attacks are done with main hand, thus would need only one new animation.

Question Modable?

I've been thinking, would it be possible to make a mod that adds Dual Wield skill?

- 1 new animation (dual strike) that is used xx% of attacks, otherwise the weapon is visible in character's offhand, but doesn't use it with "normal" attacks.
- New skill to Offence skilltree as a last skill.
- Mod the shield slot, so that offhand weapon can be wielded or add new "weapon class" offhand weapon, like main-gauche or so, that uses dagger graphics and is wielded in shield hand.

How limited is the SDK? Is there anyway to do thing like this?
