Can me and my friend play together if one of us using steam version of the game and the other using download version? if i did buy through steam can i request for key for download version? thank you in advance

I'm 99.9% pretty sure it will work either way, as nothing about the multiplayer on the steam version forces steam specific features.

The Steam version can play with the non-Steam version. You just need to make sure you are on the same number version. Also, if you buy from us I can give you a Steam key. I'll probably be a little slow right now though.
