Recover Fallen Hero's Treasure

There seems to be something wrong with the 'recover fallen hero's treasure' quest. This may be isolated to over the internet multi-player games. I have seen it work properly in LAN games and in single player. The problem is that there is no treasure chest spawned. This has happened 5 plus times in a row now.

I can get the quest, go kill the guardian, and turn in the quest just fine. But there is never a chest with the loot anywhere to be found. I wonder if it may be possible that the monsters destroy the chest and the items before we can get to it, though last game the quest was on the first level of the dungeon and we killed the target within 5 minuets of starting the town. So even if the chest got destroyed there still should have been loot on the ground, right?

I find this to be a huge let down.

I didn't even know there's supposed to be a chest I've done this quest many times, and I thought the loot was the usual drops on the ground!
