Victory Conditions?
Will it be possible to "win" without helping a chosen race control the galaxy?
Are there reasons not to ally with the strongest race right off the bat? What are the odds of needing to "switch" races in a given game?

Right now you have to ally with someone to win.
At the beginning of the game you aren't aware of all of the races. You have to discover them first, so you can't just ally with the strongest. I have no idea how often people will choose to switch allies.
