There are many heroes that have roamed the lands of Aleria fighting for the side of good in the past. Below are some of the more well know ones.
Greta Hillard While studying as a junior apprentice at the Holy Temple of Din in Morgenberg (Bearhold Grassland), Greta found herself called by the God Din to find his missing son. She set off to search for clues in Madcap City (Heister Forest) with her uncle by adoption, Mudbeard. Not long into their journey, she found herself with another companion, Retter Ketill, a barbarian paladin. Greta strove to overcome the issues from her lack of experience as the others treated her like a child, shielding her from danger. Despite her struggles to find her place among the men and her strength along the way, she leaned on her faith to overcome doubt and fear. She was determined to succeed. Stories: Wind of Din, Gift of a Thief, Abode of the Spider, Fallen Statue
Retter Ketill Retter, a barbarian paladin, stood on the roof of the Temple of Din in Jorvik (Thorbrander Forest) watching the massive storm pouring in off the ocean to the west. Hearing a shout behind him, he turned in time to see five human men fleeing from the Temple of Thaden. Retter hurried in to discover a ghastly horror. Five barbarian babies had been turned to stone and he couldn’t feel the presence of Thaden. When his fear was confirmed, Retter headed for Mapcap City (Heister Forest) and joined Greta Hillard and Mudbeard in the quest to find Thaden. Dolf “Mudbeard” Meadowguard Mudbeard was found alone in east Deadfall Forest by Fritz Hillard. The human warrior adopted the orphaned dwarf toddler and called him Dolf. Although Mudbeard learned the art of war using a hammer, a weapon favored by dwarves, he chose to remain close to home in Morgenberg (Bearhold Grassland) and open a tavern. After an altercation which resulted in several men thrown out of the tavern on a rainy evening, and Mudbeard tripping and landing in mud, some visiting dwarf merchants who were watching the fight dubbed Mudbeard with his dwarven name. Mudbeard was pleased, but he still longed to know his last name and find his blood relatives. As he grew older, Mudbeard’s mood soured. Some say it was because he was a dwarf trying to live in human lands, and others think he bore a dark secret. When Greta Hillard, his niece, was called by the God Din to find his missing son, Mudbeard promised her father, the man raised as his brother, that he would protect her during the long and precarious quest. Stories: Gift of a Thief, Abode of the Spider, Fallen Statue
