added more things you can find when scanning a planet like caches, ancient ruins, etc.

I can relate to that. I've never developed a game, but I have developed Warcraft II maps. (It's been a while. ) I would turn on the impervious-to-all-harm code and the show-complete-map code, and sit and watch to make sure the computer players were actually building things and sending out armies and not simply emptying the gold mine.

Yeah, that is what development is like sometimes. I have cheat code so the ai ignores me so I can make sure they fight each other correctly, a level up cheat so I can test higher level content, a teleport cheat so I can move around instantly to some important event, and many more.

Any developer that doesn't have a set of cheats either doesn't have control of the code base or is likely being really foolish.

crew members can now level up (kind of like ego items in DC)

strange bug of the day - races were sometimes trying to set up their home planets in dimensional pockets (really safe but no planets)
