I'm hoping someone will shed some light on how the persistent race relations work behind the scenes.
Do relations between Drox/Race and Race/Race get basically snapshotted at the end of a sector, and then carried over directly to the next time they are both present in a sector, or are they sort of averaged over time? If they are 'snapshotted', does that happen when I win (or lose) the sector, or when I actually exit the sector. I've seen evidence that it happens when I win the sector. I remember winning a sector while Shadow liked me, but turning in loads of quests before leaving the sector made them hate me... Next sector, they liked me again from the start. I've also just noticed in my last sector, I made Utopian and Dryad allies. They were allies when I won the sector, they were allies when I left it. Next sector they are neutral again. I don't understand why. I've been trying to build race relations in my current galaxy over time, not just sector by sector... but honestly I don't get how it works and sometimes I feel like I am wasting my time and money on it. |

It just carries over a little of the relation, not all of it. So if you made the Dryads into allies in your current game, in the next game they should start off a little happier with you than in the past.
