![]() dont know if you'll have access to these yet - ca't remember what exactly was avaliable at that level - but something like a virus (medium component) that reduces the enemies defense is the way to go in this situation i find... good luck!

![]() BUG: Found a drakk planet willing to sell me technology and other stuff up on the bar where the temporary buffs are it was something like (armor, em resistance, armor, technology). The technology was at 0 cost, but I could sell it back for around 12 credits I think, also when I bought the technology in mass quantity as there was no limit, I could not research them. I'd try and post a screen shot, but not sure what happened as I can't seem to find the shot I took of it =(
FYI, this game is awsome, favorite moment so far was tanking probably around 15+ dryad ships while being the lone defender of a human planet, eventually the planet got destroyed and I couldn't repair lol, keep up the good work, this game is really awsome! edit: ok I found the screen shot, but not sure how to post them, the boosts aren't there they're all replaced by other stuff, didn't test out the other stuff as what caught my attention was the technology, if you want the screen, I can email it or something. ![]() Good work Shadow these updates are making the game better and better each time.
I have found the easiest way to take down race ships is to EMP/Virus them and just keep chipping away with your lazers. Kiting a group of monsters close to their homeworld sometimes helps if they lose agro on you. There is still the bug of the sector not always showing completed once the last race has been killed. Also I will have to try it a bit more but with the recent changes it might be worth giving the races a few more starting ships as early game it seems they can be wiped out in the first minute by higher level monsters or the aggressive AIs. The end game seems to be dragging a bit still but not as much as before. I think it is mainly caused by the way the AIs conduct their attacks on enemy race planets. It seems they are sending 2-3 ships against a planet that may have 10 ships defending it. Is there any chance for a way to be added that the player can influence an allied race to attack a certain planet and for the race to judge the strength of the enemy defences and send an appropriate force against them? Or maybe an assault type Quest where the player can meet an escort of allied ships at a location and follow them to attack an enemy planet. |

![]() Might be a known bug, but I'm getting these error lines in the console:
Couldn't find sounds/magic/powerburn.wav Couldn't find sounds/elemental/fire/firequiet.snd

![]() I've built a fighter/carrier ship in hardcore mode. I'm currently in my first system and have achieved level 10 or 11. I am using level 14 fighters. The system is now down to just two competitors, the Shadow, and the Utopian. I have tried fighting in both sides of this war, and I have having a lot of issues with my fighters not being able to hit the enemy at all. I believe both races are up to level 11 or 12 at this point.
Is there some way to improve the attack skill of my fighters so that they can actually hit enemy ships? They work great on monsters, but are useless except as fodder against other races who have upgraded their defenses. I would like to have my own attack skill affect them, or I would like some other way to boost their offensive capabilities. Their damage is decent, but they never hit! I'm likely going to have to abandon this sector and perhaps my whole carrier build idea if this is going to be a reoccurring issue.

![]() The only thing I can think of is using EMPs, ReclusiveMind. I haven't tried it myself, but see if you can find a good EMP to lower enemy defense.

![]() Thanks for the tip, Chumpy. I've been doing that a little. I think the issue is Shadow have an innate bonus to defense and the Utopian likely have defensive computer components. I'm not sure what the default attack rating of the fighters is. I'm certain my fighters are higher level than the enemy ships.

![]() Out of curiosity, has anybody else noticed a rather strong "lack" of value in the items dropped when taking out planets? I was consistently getting "starter" level items in a level 30 sector.
The planet defenders were valuable enough, but the planet was like stepping back into a level 1 sector with the stuff that dropped. 4.0dps lasers, 25 thrust engines, 50 power reactors...that sort of thing. |
