![]() I've thought for a long time that way too many games don't take enough creative risks. It's likely the brain drain from all of the recent game industry layoffs and the huge uptake of generative AI usage is going to make that worse. Fight this by buying some indie games!

![]() Interesting historical tidbit: when I launched Soldak over 20 years ago, one of the reasons why I choose to go with our own custom engine is because our main 2 choices (Unreal & id Tech) costed over $100,000 per game!
