Sponsored a ship for a race and the colonized a planet.
Later on in the game, noticed they had another ship on the map, it said the were headed to that same planet to colonize?
Don't know if my recent posts help in any way, if they are 'not' useful please let me know.

Maybe they were adding to the population (total speculation; not sure if that's how it works).

You bring up an interesting point, and something I've been wondering: Do colony ships have functions other than starting a colony (like adding to the population)? And how do the races "heal" their planetary colonies after sustaining battle damage - is it just waiting for people to breed? And can I help it somehow?

Was thinking the same thing (as a possibility)... EDIT: Did see a freighter sending food to planet.
I also has two ships headed to a planet with no one there, and they were labeled as attacking that planet.
