Backlashes hacking Ballistic weapons

I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but over the course of a few systems now I've noticed that backlashes can hack ballistic weapons. While the path doesn't change, and the shells seem like they still can hurt the backlashes, they can also hurt (and usually one shot) me. It's usually a problem when I am sitting close to them as they hack the weapon the second the weapon is fired so the projectile is sitting under me. I have a screen shot of a longer distance shot that has the purple hacking-energy effect surrounding it.
