need some modding help.
I'm new to this game and forum and was wondering if someone could help me get a mod working, I'm trying to edit the game files so that the base stats of a character are limited to 1000 instead of 250, I find the upper limit somewhat annoying, especially when you're trying to use weapons that have a stat requirement of 290 strength or similar.
here's the link to the file if anyone is interested in helping. ps. I don't like relying on redundant items that boost base stats just to use a weapon that has stat requirements well outside the characters limits it removes enchantment slots that could be used for much more beneficial effects. pss. how do you raise max level for the player, I cannot find the specific stat that controls it. here's the games base stats on levels, MaxLevel 200 MaxNpcLevel 100 what I'm trying to figure out is why were locked at level 100 when the game clearly sets the maximum level at 200. psss. one last thing do I compress the folders into zip files or relabel them as zip files? and is their a specific character set required in game files for them to be read by the system. Found my problem, make sure when you're saving the mod that you zip the Database folder and not the mod folder itself.
To anyone new at modding like I was heres how your folder should look before zipping it. Database -->Mymod.gdb after zip Mymod.zip -->Database ---->Mymod.gdb my mistake was Mymod.zip -->Mymod ---->Database ------>mymod.gdb anyway here's the modfile |

Sorry for the late reply, but if you still need help the area you want to edit for higher attribute caps will list
MaxBaseStrength MaxBaseDexterity MaxBaseVitality MaxBaseIntelligence MaxBaseSpirit MaxBaseCaptain Captain is a leftover from Drox Operative and can be ignored. You can find the area in the systems.gdb file and searching for either "250" or "MaxBaseStrength" in the editor you use will help you find where they are. As for character level, to my knowledge it can't go past 100, only enemies and stuff can go past it. I may be wrong, I've just never successfully modified it higher. |

Thanks for the response I already found the files, and I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to altering the max level of the PC. other than that I'm pretty much done with the mod as is I might get back to editing it further once I've figured out what I want to add.
Are their any modifiers that allow for adjusting values based on character stats, like say a bow that increases damage by 2.5 per point in dexterity? |

I don't believe so, I think those are hardcoded. For all the freedom there is to the Din's series, sadly they are also limited in odd ways. For example, you can't really make a new playable race like a Stalker because they only have animations for their specific skills. No animation plays when you do a skill like Powerstrike unless you set one, and you only have the limited few available.
