Do monsters ever loot anything?

Besides Leprechauns? Orcs especially seem to have a great hatred for chests and secret stashes, but they dont actually seem to ever loot anything from there. Do they loot potions and such? I've heard them quaffing potions before on occasion.

BTW I've also noticed some odd behaviour regarding orcs vs chests/stash. Sometimes they leave these alone, until I kill one of them, then run away. All of a sudden they start taking it out on the chest/stash and stop hunting me. Poor iron and wood

Naga's seem to hate secret stashes to the point where they will attack one even if I am attacking them.

It's really just the leprechauns that pick up stuff. There are various monsters that use or destroy different objects in the world though.
