Default Din patch 1.000

Patch 1.000 of Din's Curse is now available over on the Din's Curse patch page. Changes can be read here. There are only minor changes from version 0.912, but I wanted to make sure our pre-orders get fully updated.

Congratulations on the relatively (well, from my perspective) smooth ride to v1.0 Shadow. Its been a pleasure to see the game move from quite frustrating in the first versions to just the right mix of challenge/reward. I hope it does well.

Just applied 1.0 and had a strange/unexpected thing happen during a quest. The rescue quest victim was killed and soon after raised as undead but they had the vengeance quest still enabled even though I couldn't actually speak with the undead (non-ghostly) version of them. Left click showed the attack icon and what with the inquisitive mind and all, a lootable body appears after I kill them. RIP quest victim twice over.

I had an axe vendor get killed in a dungeon. He died, but stayed alive as a sort of gray person that had been renamed "Kyler." He was still using the graphic for a standing, living character, instead of a dead body. He was lootable.

This is the kind of thing that keeps the game interesting. The important thing is; were you surprised, and was it fun looting the body? lol

Congrats on the release! I hope Din's does well.

I was wondering though, if you're still taking suggestions and ideas on the forums here? I know bug reports are always welcome (well, "welcome" might be the wrong word ), but what about stuff like quest ideas and such?

Yes, definitely. I will probably add some new content in new patches still. There is also the possibility of expansions.

Awesome. I still had a few ideas I wanted to throw out there at some point, and I'm sure some of my fellow testers here did too.

Have you thought of the type of expansions you might do yet, or is it still too early for that? I'm curious if you're intending to do major ones that add another 1/5 of the content on top of what's there already in the game or if you plan on micro-expansions that might just be a large class-pack with some new gear, etc.

Speaking of possible game expansions, if there's one possible type I might want to see, maybe it could be something that would involve a series of outdoor areas like in Depths of Peril? Or perhaps, if you'd insist on sticking to the dungeon theme, why not some involving new named villains that you would incorporate not just into random generation, but also as actual villains of the lore behind the Depths of Peril world within the Din's Curse game? (like Draaien the Grimp and Ciglio Chandmir were to DoP and Vrull was to Kivi's Underworld).
