Redesigning all the uniques
I haven't looked at the data for this game in a long while.
Is it possible to redesign the uniques beyond naming and perhaps icons:
1. Change the number of properties, the range of properties?
2. Make some properties fixed?
3. Grant a skill on an item?
You can definitely add, remove, or change all of the fixed properties on the unique items. I don't believe DoP had any skills you could add to the items.
You can let a mage use a shield just by adding
to the mage class.
You might be able to make a wand class that only a mage can use. Instead of using something like a WeaponAxe ItemRequirement you could try something like ItemRequirement Mana instead.

Oh cool thanks I might scrap the wands/shield idea I just realized the staff is actually decent damage up close. Just very dangerous.
Pffft I played this quite a lot, and only just noticed that some bosses have a casting bar and Earthquake seemed to interrupt it So I've been tanking some uniques with my Mage and that's when I realized the staff isn't that bad
