Random thoughts:

I understand that this is a 32bit game and as it seems to me that we are collectively having more system memory issues with recent patches (sound going out, quest generation crashing and corrupting saves, etc), has anyone tried Large Address Aware to see if it helps with some of the apparent memory issues? I was considering applying it, but wanted to see if anyone else had already given it at shot.

Suggested new handicaps:
Character Handicap - Bloodbound (or some similarly themed title):
Your clan members are bloodbound/lifelinked to you through the clan healthstone. Every time your character dies and resurrects, one of your clan members is randomly consumed to fuel the resurrection. If your character dies with no remaining clan members to consume, you lose the game instance and are sent back to the map generation screen. In this mode the clan healthstone is a critical target, with all remaining clan members and yourself instantly dying before game instance loss if it is destroyed (echoes of Depths of Peril here). In some compensation, perhaps you and your clan members all receive small buffs from the link, such as modest increases to health or mana regen. Probably not compatible with hardcore, though a hardcore version of this (perm character loss after loss of all clan members then character death) is an interesting twist. I originally also thought about suggesting that clan member deaths would inflict damage on your character as part of this, but I could see that causing an negative feedback loop.

Character Handicap - Quorum:
You must maintain a minimum town population or you trigger a loss countdown towards losing the game instance. Numbers are up for debate. For example, you need a minimum of 5 clan members and start with 10, or a minimum of 10 and start with 15-20, etc. All generated starting clan members are completely random and may start out incompatible just like normal. Clan members disabled by quest misfortune are not counted against you until they actually die and are removed from your clan roster (kidnapped, petrified, etc). If your character is starting a new game instance, he automatically receives free npcs up to the freebie start cap. This handicap is bound to the character instead of the map generation to avoid someone loading a map to get free npcs, then immediately restarting without the handicap. This might include a slight buff to the spawn rate of recruitable npcs. This handicap would probably be incompatible with Family or Loner.

Bloodbound would be interesting.

Large Address Aware is something to enable the use of more virual memory, right? For the record, I have virtual memory disabled while having 16gb ram and I have had no issues with sound going out or crashing. Though I have had corrupted saves from having my pc crash during game, it had to do with independent videocard issues and not the game (oddly enough, a video "memory" issue while having dual monitors enabled, but Zombasite wasn't the only game that would crash).

EDIT: Ok I think when I searched up about this I got confused by it enabling more "virtual memory", it means memory in general not just swap file
Anyways, I did try to enable "Large Address Aware" for Zombasite, being curious, but it had an error code..

Edit: I tried to load and now understand you meant Zombasite itself has the error code with LAA flagged, not the LAA utility having an error. That both answers my question and makes everything else I previously said in this particular post obsolete.

I've been playing the beta for a few months now and am mostly enjoying it, though as more of a casual player there are elements of the mechanics that I personally find more annoying than challenging. Town attacks being one of them - so I am pleased to see the low stress option make a return. I selected it today for my new character but after less than half an hour play time my town was destroyed by bombardment from siege towers. I had also selected very fast pacing, are these options incompatible?

Siege attacks just weren't marked as high stress. It should be fixed in the next build.

BTW, is Shalafi a Dragonlance reference?

I (and another player I know) have sometimes encountered a bug where you can't left click to pick up something on the hotbar, like a potion from slot 10 to drag and heal an ally. This bug MAY trigger at times when trying to click the health potion while it's on cooldown for the player, but I'm not completely sure.

One other thing.. It would be nice to have the "Enter" key come of use for confirming messages and such (like diplomacy or taunt messages for instance)

Haha, maybe I just get stressed easily!

In our games:

Torva are the cousin of orcs, descending from a recessive trait that causes them to be smaller and more vicious than orcs. Unlike orcs, they had the ability to band together with a great deal less internal strife. In the Battle of Hellsink, the orcs killed and ran off torvas, fearing their growing numbers and power.
Torvas prefer warm climates, and are especially fond of the jungle environments where they fled from the orcs. While in Greenblight Jungle, they learned to use fire magic.

Have also had sounds drop out every play. First to go are combat sounds and, eventually, all sounds drop out so that I'm playing in total silence.
